SUB-REGIONAL IMPACT

The high need for food in countries like Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, and Cameroon and the scarcity of sources of animal protein have been part of the inspiration for this common innitiative project.
The PROMAGRI Project is intended to encourage locals in modern and sustainable agricultural practices and methods. We therefore work together with the Ministry of Agriculture officials in the area to educate locals on how to manage crops that would be disease and pest free in order to maximise productivity and production-life-expectancy for crops and plants.
PROMAGRI intends to serve as an encouragement to locals that together and with hard work we can achieve our agricultural goals without destroying our environment. We can also help in the reduction of unemployment and creat better chances for healthy nutrition.
ECOFRIENDLY
PROMAGRI is an ecofriendly venture that intends to use all organic material produced on the project to sustain the fertility of the land and bringing to a minimum the use of inorganic fertilizers.
In the same line PROMAGRI believes that every tree cut down should be replaced with a more useful tree. We therefore give high premium to the cultivation of fruit trees alongside our plantain plantation in order to ensure that erosion damage is effectively contained and hindered. All paths on the project are expected to be line with erosion-hindering shrubs.
EMPLOYMENT POLICY
Promagri will seek to employ skilled labour as far as possible from its immediate environs before seeking the same from elsewhere. By so doing we hope to help in reducing unemployment and rural exodus in the surroundings of Kye-Ossi.
FRUIT TREES
Fruit trees provide for locals a ready source of vitamins in their diet thereby reducing desease and infant mortality.
PRODUCTS
PROMAGRI cultivates maize, soybeans, and peanuts that are used in the production of fodder for her table birds, layers, pigs, and fish. Twenty thousand (20000) treated and pure plantain suckers have already been planted and are in various stages of maturity.
She will run;
- a piggery with a capacity of 250 subjects constant;
- a poultry with a capacity of 9000 layers and 1000 table birds constant;
- a four section fish pond with a total area of 2000 square metres designed to
produce four varieties of fish.
- 4000 fruit trees will be planted by the time the project reaches full kick-off. These
will be different varieties to give a balance to the ecosystem and provide neccesary
food vitamins and minerals.
